After Taking images for Singapore lounge they asked if I wanted to redesign their website. As shown above their website was very outdated and needed a more modern approach. As an individual business they’ve just stared redesigning their image, which I’ve helped with photographs. I enjoyed making them a website as I had showed the manager  my own website I had just created which he was in appraisal to. I wanted to a quite classy but simplistic design not too heavy that showed it was an established business creating them a good image. The front page includes all information needed like address opening closing times, what they are and what services are provided. Images of the bar and as its a cocktail bar making this section apparent with deal and images. At the bottom of every page is a universal map with the location and contact details so it’s very easy to know where and who to contact which is important in a business. At the moment it’s made with Wix which is a free design but I’ve told the owner that to get the domain he just has to pay the price which the website will then change to singaporalounge.com. The pages include a gallery of images I had taken and then has another page for Menus and prices as there is a restaurant upstairs. They really liked the website and said it was what they were after. I really enjoyed working on this and has made me more confident in working for a company creating designs for them.

Below is a video showing navigation through the new website.

Website Inspirations: Ruxbin Chicago

Ruxbin Chicago is a renowned bar and restaurant in Chicago. When looking up ideas for bar website designs I found this one which had a very classic and professional website body.

The home page is very classic, It has promotional images of cocktails and lets you be intrigued by the bar by the first look. One of the drop down pages from the menu takes you to the restaurant menu which has a very simplistic and classic style. It’s clearly headed with the starters and mains in categories and a short description of the dish with prices. This is something I have taken forward in my own  design of the website. What also stood out to me and what I liked was under the bottom of the first page where the details of contact and location are set is a map. This clearly pin points where the place is and surrounding streets, which makes it easier to locate. It also creates a professional aesthetic.

Another Website I found useful for inspiration is Cow&Co

This again has a very professional yet classy aesthetic. However what I like about this website was that it had more information on the home page. It wasn’t too much and was laid out in a classy way but had images from the restaurant and address and contact details and menu clearly on the side. It also had announcements and offers which draw people in. This was something I then included in the design of Singapora’s. Again the menu had a very clean and simple layout.
